It was sunset. That didn't stop the plain from looking the unique way it did that evening. The whole thing reflected the sun, and the plain was yellow. Looking at the grass could hurt your eyes as much as the sun itself. You could clearly make out every blade of grass, because of the shadows underneath. This gave each blade of grass a comical black out line.
The trees around the clearing glinted like the grass, but, they offered some shade. Glinting red orbs hung from them, rocking gently. In the shade, was the only way to remain actually cold. But, it was more comfortable then the glaring sun.
The glare of the sun had little effect on the weather. A light, cool, breeze blew through the clearing, making it so the side of you that faced the sun was really hot, and the side that didn't was cold. Well, not cold, but nicely cool, perfect weather for doing.... anything.
A cat was standing on one side of the clearing. He had thick, light gray fur, and a chubby, well-fed look. He also had some less-noticeable muscles. When he stepped into the sun, his fur shimmered and glinted, like sun on an apple. So, it was more of a reflection.
He wandered into the clearing, his foggy green eyes catching on a bush from with scarlet berries hung. He padded over, with nothing better to do, and sniffed them. Though he didn't know that the berries were deathberries, he did know not to eat them when he didn't know what they were. He batted at them, not bothering to resist the kit-like urge.
Nearby, a silver she-cat was sliding through the underbrush, hunting. not for mice, voles or fish, she was in the forest after all. She was hunting for herbs. And finding quite a few. Her mouth was filled with everything from Marigold to Colts' foot. Tangy scents, bitter scents and sweet scents surrounded her.
The first cat, a tom was Fogpaw, a Riverclan apprentice. The second was a she-cat Splashfire, a medicine cat for Riverclan.

Tigerstep was following two steps behind the medicine cat, his eyes following his apprentice but his ears perked to catch the sounds. His own mouth was filled with herbs as well. Stalks of goldenrod were held gently between his teeth. He hid a wince at the taste, though. What in StarClan's name made him offer his services for collecting herbs. He hated herbs.
He remembered when Fogpaw started to sniff at the bright red berries. "FOGPAW!" he yowled, dropping the goldenrod stems in the process. "Get away from there! Those are deathberries!" He ran towards his apprentice and tried to nudge him away, putting himself between Fogpaw and the bushes. "They're the most deadly natural poison we know of. Just licking the juice would be enough to kill you."

Fogpaw cried out in surprise as his mentor sprinted over, and shoved him away from the bush. He then began yelling something about them being deadly. Fogpaw shurged his reflective shoulders. "I wasn't going to eat them." He said as if nothing had happened at all. As if he hadn't been inches away from death.
Splashfire sighed. She didn't like scolding cats, when they hadn't done anything wrong. And just something made her believe that Fogpaw was telling the truth, about not planing to eat them. She picked up the dropped Goldenrod, and padded over to where the toms stood, her fur shinning more then Fogpaws, almost sparkling.

Tigerstep scowled at Fogpaw and made a motion like he was going to cuff the younger tom upside the head, but restrained himself from doing so. "You don't have to eat them to be infected. Just licking the juice is enough to make you sick for several days, if not worse." The deputy examined his apprentice carefully, looking for any traces of red liquid. "You didn't get any on your paws, did you? That's an especially bad place to get some. You need to wash them off in a stream, which means you'd be tracking it everything and fresh-kill would eat it, get sick, and die so hunting patrols can't catch them. Then the Clan would starve." This wasn't necessarily true. He just wanted to see what Fogpaw would do.

"I didn't even touch them, Tigerstep." Fogpaw meowed. "Anyway, will it really poison all the prey, Splashfire?" He might have believed the fib, but, he was standing not a tail length away from the clan medicine cat. Splashfire held back a sigh. "They are dangerous if they get on your paws, because then they'll poison any land prey you catch, and could get on the freshkill pile and such. I don't believe unless you drenched your paws in it, it would be a problem anyway, probably wearing off on the ground before anything happened." She meowed.

Dovepaw had woken up later because her leg kept her up all night with pain. She'd finally taken some poppy seeds to help. She had fallen a sleep almost right away and slept through the morning. Dovepaw noticed that Splashfire was gone from the den. Since her mentor wasn't in the den and some of the herbs looked kind of low. Dovepaw diecded to get out of camp and explore. But while she was exploring Dovepaw found some of the herbs that were low. She picked them how Splashfire had showed her.
Dovepaw had picked most of all the herbs that were low and while she was going back to camp to drop off her loud. Dovepaw hear'd yelling and thought she hear'd Splashfires voice after the other. She followed the voices. But before she got to the other cats and saw who it was. Dovepaw had smelt Splashfires scent with two toms. Dovepaw couldn't tell who it was right now. But she thought it might be Tigerstep and Fogpaw who some times went out with Splashfire to help find herbs. Dovepaw limped in the direction of the scent of Splashfire and soon found herself walking through a bush beside a deathberry bush. Dovepaw saw her mentor and walked over to drop the herbs beside the older She cat "Morning" she said in a low tone.
