Snowpaw
[/center]..Silhouette..
Name: Snowpaw
Gender: Tom
Age: 6 Moons.
Clan: WindClan.
Ranking: Medicine Cat Apprentice.
Description:
::Pelt::
The first true day of winter. When you awake to see the shinning, crystally ground. Knowing the first snow had laid down a soft sheet over the world, hiding all the wonders its white hands. Trees, bare of leaves snaking their now white fingers toward your house. And the small amounts of awe that fill your body. Every freezing breeze sending small amounts of snow into the air that seemed to dance and spin before being welcomed back upon the ground.
This is what Snowpaw's pelt reminds me of, this wonderful white and shininess. How could such a blind cat have such wonderful fur? Snowpaw would never be able to hide in the dark, for the whiteness of his pelt. Though, his pelt isn't completely white. Upon his head he has two small black patches. One on the left side of his face above his eye, the other making up most of his left ear and slightly down the back of his head. Snowpaw's sure is slightly on the longer side, though he wouldn't be considered a long haired cat. The fur on his chest is slightly longer then the rest.
::Body::
His body was made for a warrior. As a kit he would always be the one who won play fights and grew faster then the rest of the kits. At the age of three moons he was the size of a 6 moon old apprentice. His body is full of muscle that will never be used. Of course this isn't a bad thing, for if needed he could defend himself using the little battle training he will get. He is pretty good at knowing how to fight for a blind cat.
Snowpaw's legs are a bit longer then most cats but normal for his clan. He looks like any other Windclan cat, with a lean muscular body. He also has his long legs and a long tail. He has sharp nails and teeth, since they haven't been used much in his apprentice-hood.
::Face and Eyes::
Snowpaw, is blind. Causing his eyes to be two bright, blue, cloudy eyes. Some cats can't stand to look him in the face, though it doesn't matter much because he cannot see where they are looking. Many times you will not know where he is looking, for his eyes stare off into space. Before Snowpaw was blind, he had beautiful, crystal, blue eyes.
Snowpaw's head is of average shape and size. It fits his body perfectly. His ears are pink on the inside and very big, having long white tuffs coming from the insides that protect them. His nose is very cute and bright pink which leads into his pink lips. His whiskers are white and very long. Since they are white they blind pretty much into his fur.
Personality:
A cry for help, a scream of pain, or a dying cat's last breath, and you can be sure that Snowpaw stands near the body, his ice blue eyes calculating, his face completely sadden.
When he doctors his patients, his voice is sweet, caring as he tells them straight-forward what to eat when and when to sleep. When he delivers the death sentence, remaining silent as the cat cries out and nuzzles their loved ones, telling them through barely concealed tears that they are dying. He though, like any good Medicine cat can remain motionless or knows when bravery is in order. Fighting to save any loyal warrior who falls to the ground from hunger or thirst from a hard winter day.
Snowpaw does not lie, but as an apprentice still carries the unknowing scent. Of course he is a fast learning, and follows his Mentor into any dieing battle. Though, will make any mistake a common apprentice would make. Not knowing how a pile of herbs may look, he goes completely by smell. Since it has only been a moon since he's gone blind he still remembers the feeling of being able to see. He now often runs into other cats when not listening or deciding something in his head. Or even runs into walls or trees.
The only time Snowpaw can see is when getting dreams from Starclan. He never minds the far walks to the Moonstone, for he gets to see the world around him. He knows many places in the Clan's land just by the tips of his paws. Though, still trips over then a lot.
History:
Snowkit was born under the care of his mother. He was an only kit, and for a while regretted it. Snowkit was a happy, healthy kit. He was outgoing, playful and very easy to get along with, just like any other kit. However, he always won play-fights and he grew pretty big during his first two moons.
Icefeather was the perfect mother - a gorgeous, happy, playful she-cat that scolded Snowkit gently and never beat him. Snowkit loved his mother with a deep, burning love that carried on into his apprenticeship. She was his world, and he was always grateful for her. While other toms drifted from their mothers and eventually became more attached to their fathers, Snowpaw never did. His mother was his hero.
His father, however, was a different story.
Firegaze was not exactly a model father. He did not love Icefeather - he had courted her when they were both young, foolish apprentices, though this was prohibited in the Clans. He had loved her once, but after discovering that Icefeather was pregnant, he ran, not wanting to be discovered for having kits when apprentices. Firegaze was never one for rules, and did not mind breaking them, but within himself he was a coward and did not want to get caught, despite 'loving' Icefeather. After Snowkit was born, Firegaze pretty much abandoned the mother and son pair. He disclaimed Snowpaw as his son, and Icefeather, ashamed and heartbroken, told no one that he was the father. Icefeather told Snowpaw of his father at a young age - she and he were very close, and she did not want him wondering who his father was. However, she told Snowkit to never tell anyone who his father was, and to this day he has not.
Snowpaw was five moons old when his mother became sick.
The little snow white kit was only days away from his apprentice ceremony when he awoke one night to hear a cat entering the nursery. He kept his eyes almost shut and just barely peeked from between his eyelids to watch the approaching tom. Snowkit recognized the orange fur.
It was Firegaze.
He was about to stand and ask what his father was doing in the nursery when everyone was asleep. Firegaze, though, held a stem with bright red berries attached, his paw steps quiet, and his green eyes were haunted.
Snowkit remained motionless, watching them from squinted blue eyes. Something did not feel right. Snowkit became uncomfortably aware that Icefeather was the only queen in the nursery at the moment. And he the only kit. His fur began to bristle slightly as Firegaze dropped the stem next to Icefeather and shoved a berry into her mouth. Snowkit knew what was coming next. He clawed one of the red berries and pushed it toward Snowkit's mouth.
Snowkit felt uneasiness grow into dread. He did not want to eat the berry, quite suddenly, and he felt anger and hatred toward his father which grew more. Which only intensified as he prodded open Snowkit's mouth and dropped the berry inside. Firegaze did not make sure he chewed, only turned away and slipped out of the nursery, his green eyes destitute. After he could hear no sounds outside the nursery, Snowkit quickly sped out and rinsed out his mouth in the small pool of water near the Clan entrance. He'd returned to sleep, trying to pretend the entire affair was a dream.
He could no longer deny it when he found his mother dead the next morning, and his sight gone the day after. Two things he loved dearly. He could only morn over his mothers body, stuffing his face into her pelt, only the Medicine cat being able to drag him away. Soon the medicine cat realized Snowkit was blind, and couldn't be a warrior and accepted him as the Medicine cat apprentice
