Age: 20 moons
Clan: RiverClan
Ranking: Deputy
Description:
Personality:
History:
When he was born, his mother waited a few days to name her kits until their personalities developed. The first foray into the camp, he'd challenged everyone who came near his family, including their father, Ripplepelt. His protective nature earned him the name Tigerkit. Bouncekit was named because he could never sit still, and Hazelkit was named simply for his brown pelt. Tigerkit didn't even know he had an aunt until the day the three were made apprentices.
Tigerpaw was given the warrior Sablestep for a mentor. Bouncepaw was saddled with Brindlecloud while Hazelpaw had a younger warrior named Treeblaze. Ripplepelt had gone up to Bouncepaw and meowed, "You lucked out, getting your aunt as a mentor!" At first, Tigerpaw didn't know what to make of that. Then he realized that Hazelpaw and Brindlecloud shared the same brown tabby pelt.
Life went on normally. Tigerpaw showed within the first moon of training that he was the most skilled fighter. There would be times during training when he would give pointers to his littermates before the mentors even moved. But they both returned the favor. Hazelpaw was blessed with the speed and patience to be one of the best hunters in the Clan. Bouncepaw was the most popular. Because of his enthusiasm, he was friends with every cat in their den, and even some of the younger warriors. But that wouldn't come in handy until after all three of them had become warriors.
Warrior/Deputy
Tigerstep's warrior name was given half a moon after Bouncefire's and Hazelpelt's. All three had participated in a border skirmish with ThunderClan. Tigerstep had been hurt. Not badly, but enough that he missed some of his training. While he was in the medicine den, one of the other apprentices visited him daily, just to keep his spirits up.
Copperpaw was a pretty dark ginger she-cat, full of life and laughter and three moons younger than Tigerstep. Because of the age difference, the two had never shared any conversation, maybe one or two words in passing. Perhaps that is the reason he was surprised to find that he got on quite well with his former denmate. Even after he'd recovered and switched dens, Tigerstep found himself going out of his way to sit with her at Clan meetings and Gatherings.
One day, after watching Copperpaw leave on patrol, a purr from behind him caught his attention. Bouncefire was twitching his whiskers at his littermate with a mouse at his paws. "I never thought I'd see the day when big, scary Tigerstep was mooning over a she-cat." Tigerstep tried to deny it, but there was no conviction behind his meow. Bouncefire ignored his brother's denial and said, "I'll help you out if you want. Put in a good word, so to speak." For the next three moons, Tigerstep padded after the younger she-cat, until she joined him in the warriors den as Copperflight.
By this time, he was 15 moons old. He divided his time in three: his warrior duties, wooing Copperflight, and helping out the mentors with their apprentices. He longed for the day that he was entrusted with his own apprentice. Tigerstep merely saw this as practice.
His chance came sooner than expected in the form of travesty. An outbreak of greencough brought about the death of Solarstrike, one of the most senior warriors. Solarstrike had been mentor to seven moon old Fogpaw. It fell on Tigerstep's shoulders to complete the young tom's training. It ruffled a few pelts that such a young warrior was chosen, but it was eventually dropped. He was 17 moons now.
Barely a moon passed when Copperflight announced that she was having his kits. It was happy news for the entire Clan. Tigerstep could barely go five pawsteps without saying it aloud. Every rival patrol he saw at the borders was told the news. It was already in the other Clans by the time the moon was full.
Which was a good thing, really, because the other Clans started causing trouble. The Gathering ended with clouds covering the moon before RiverClan could even make its report. The results were catestrophic. A border skirmish with ThunderClan turned into something worse when RiverClan lost their deputy. Tigerstep flayed the cat in revenge.
Later that night, with the quarter moon high over head, Tigerstep was named the replacement. This time, no one argued. He'd proven himself in battle.
